Sometimes you can't do it alone, therefore I like to say that "I like to meet people where they are and give a little direction" I specialize in helping busy women and men from all walks of life, as well as moms/families and diseased prevention individuals. I provide Health coaching, personal and group training in the Chicago area and online nationwide to promote wellness. I have the desire to educate and train people where ever they are in life in simple and effective ways they can live happier and healthier lives. I help men and women improve their quality of life by becoming physically and emotionally fit with exercise and motivation. As a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor of various formats, I am motivated to lead, educated, inform, in ways to improve your well-being and encourage a change in a healthier lifestyle. What I am most passionate about and my goal is to establish relationships with the community with a no-excuses format for physical activity that will result in better health outcomes and promote lasting positive change. My purpose is to motivate others to improve their quality of life and live every day to the fullest.
Here at Strange Fitness, we strive to help you maintain a healthy balance between your workout goals and your life. Shera Strange is a nationally certified health coach, personal trainer and a nationally certified group exercise instructor along with being a Certified Cycle/Spin Instructor. As a fitness specialist and past armature triathlete, she conducts national lectures and workshops on several topics including fitness, nutrition, and motivation. She specializes in teaching classes such as TABATA/HIIT (high-intensity interval training), circuits, strength training, conditioning, cardiovascular, boot camp, core, and functional training and mat Pilates.
Shera has had training in anatomy, kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise psychology, fitness assessments, stress testing, and athletic training, which allows her to work with several populations. She has over 15 years of experience working with men, women, seniors, pre and postnatal women, pre and posts gastric bypass, post-hysterectomy, minor league baseball players and well persons who experience health challenges such as MS, stroke, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and cancer.
In 2000 at 5ft 4 1/2 inches she weighed 210 pounds and was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Also, because of the excess weight, she had heel spurs and experienced constant pain in her hip. After the multiple diagnoses, Shera knew she had to lose weight and get in better health. However, it wasn't easy until the death of two very close family members who died from bad health-related diseases that Shera decided to make a change in her life seriously. With a commitment to become healthy, Shera started her career on the path to fitness and better health. Today Shera has lost over 60 pounds and improved her overall health.
Currently, Shera is pursuing certifications Pilates Reformer along with various specializations.
